Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the A&J Hampton Insulation and Spray Foam website and any work you hire us to do. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work through it.
When we write a proposal for your job, that proposal and these terms work together. If the two ever say different things, the signed proposal for your job controls.
What we do
A&J Hampton Insulation and Spray Foam is an insulation contractor in Hampton, VA. We install, top up and remove insulation, seal air leaks and put down vapor barriers in attics, walls, crawl spaces and basements for homes and businesses. You can see the full list of services on our home page and read more about us on our About page.
The information on this site is general. Every house is different, so nothing here is a promise about your house until we've seen it and given you a written proposal.
Estimates and pricing
We give free in-person estimates with no obligation. Your estimate is based on what we can see and reach on that visit, and it lists the work, the materials and the price for your job.
Sometimes we only find a problem once the work starts, like old insulation that's wet or full of droppings, damaged framing or gaps we couldn't see. When that happens, we stop, show you what we found and explain what it changes. We won't do extra work or charge for it until you've agreed to it.
An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material costs may have changed, so we may need to update the price before we schedule.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
We'll set a start date with you and tell you about how long our crew expects to be at your house. Weather, material delivery and what we find once the job is open can move that date, and if it moves, we'll call you as soon as we know.
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work areas and to clear stored items out of the attic, crawl space or rooms we need to reach, unless we've agreed to move them for you. For spray foam jobs, you agree to keep people and pets out of the house until we tell you it's safe to return, because the foam maker sets a re-entry time that has to pass first.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at (757) 367-8752 as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or started work, your proposal explains what you'd owe for that.
Payment
Your proposal says how much is due, when it's due and how you can pay. Unless it says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.
If a payment is late, we may hold any remaining work until the account is current. If an unpaid balance has to go to collection, you agree to pay the reasonable costs of collecting it, as far as Virginia law allows.
Warranties
We stand behind our work, and any written workmanship warranty for your job will be in your proposal or on your invoice. Materials carry the warranty their makers offer, and we'll pass those along to you.
Apart from those written warranties, the website and our services are provided as they are, without any other promise, spoken or implied, as far as the law allows. We can't promise a certain drop in your power bill or a certain room temperature, because those depend on things outside our work, like your heating and cooling system, windows and how you use your house.
Limits on our liability
As far as Virginia law allows, A&J Hampton Insulation and Spray Foam isn't responsible for indirect or follow-on losses, like lost use of a room, lost income or damage from a problem that was already in the house before we started.
If we are found responsible for a loss tied to a job, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
If something goes wrong
If you're unhappy with any part of the work, call us first. Most problems get fixed fastest when our crew comes back out and looks at it with you, and we'd much rather do that than argue about it.
If we can't settle it together, either of us can take the matter to the courts serving Hampton, Virginia, and both of us agree to that location.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the new version applies once it's posted on this page. A job you've already signed for stays under the terms that were in place when you signed.
If you have a question about these terms, reach us through our Contact page or by phone at (757) 367-8752, and we'll get back to you within 1 business day.
